Pronounced as muse-lee, it is an uncooked mixture of nuts, seeds, grains, dried fruits, and spices.
What is the difference between granola and muesli?
Granola generally involves both an oil or fat and sugar or sweetener and is baked. For example, in granola. Muesli, on the other hand, doesn’t contain added oils, sugars, and is eaten raw or uncooked. Both are delicious, nutrient dense, and easy to make and serve.
So let’s get into it, shall we?
Simple and delicious muesli with almonds, pumpkin seeds, raisins, flaxseeds, dried fruit and sunflower seeds will surely get your mornings rocking! This muesli is a healthy, homemade breakfast. Great thing about homemade muesli you can add anything you like for example, coconut pieces, your favorite nuts and even dark chocolate. This recipe makes approximately 7 cups muesli.
4 cups of rolled wholegrain oats
1 cup of almonds
1 cup of raisins
½ a cup of pumpkin seeds
½ cup dried fruit (I used dried dates)
½ cup of flaxseeds
½ cup of sunflower seeds
In a large mixing bowl, combine the oats and all the other ingredients and stir until every ingredient is distributed well in the mix.
Store in an airtight container, mason jars, or zip lock bags for later use at room temperature.
Serve with warm almond milk or grass-fed organic milk. And top with your choice of toppings, you can add more pumpkin seeds or raisins or even slice some fruit. Enjoy!
