Luke Hines - My Journey to Becoming a SkinB5 Ambassador

Posted by Judy Cheung-Wood on

My philosophy is simple. Train smart, eat clean and feel good. And if we can find synergy between these three elements in our life then I think we are well on our way to living our best life that is full of happiness and health. Because ultimately, at the end of the day, it is true happiness and vibrant health that we should be striving for each and every day.

My name is Luke Hines and have spent over 10 years as a personal trainer helping people achieve their goals through fitness and healthy food. Following a successful stint as a finalist on My Kitchen Rules, I have now released 7 cook books, worked with Angelina Jolie and been the official trainer on Australia’s Next Top Model. If there is one thing I have learnt through my adventure of life so far, it is that confidence inside and out can go a long way. And that there are a few easy, sustainable and enjoyable steps to being the confident person we can all be.

I wasn't always the confident guy standing up in front of millions of people sharing my passion for a healthy lifestyle and delicious food; quite the opposite in fact. Growing up in school I wasn't in the so-called ‘cool’ or ‘popular’ groups at school. I was very shy, interested in books, computers, and animals, and suffered from serious acne. From my forehead down to the lower parts of my neck and upper back, I had very obvious red, blistery and inflamed skin with many white heads. As you can imagine experiencing this in my adolescence certainly rocked my confidence and if you had asked me then if I could ever imagine my face on the front cover of a book I would have laughed loudly at you.

During puberty, I was hit hard with acne, and it rocked my confidence and self-esteem to the point that I shed away from public speaking and situations where I would be presented in front of lots of people. I wanted to fit in, and have skin like the older kids, so I asked mum to help. At that point in time, there wasn't anything natural on the market and we resorted to a product that had toxic ingredients, in particular, benzoyl peroxide, not to mention a list if side effects that would make your skin crawl, if not burn! But, I was desperate, much like many other teenagers out there dealing with acne. I was willing to do anything, even if it wasn't good for my overall health, to get on top of the acne I was suffering.

I look back as a 33-year-old man, that can still experience acne mind you, albeit more restrained than what I experience in my younger years, and I often wish I had a natural alternative to treat and reduce my acne as a teenager. I feel like my overall health and wellbeing would have been much better if I had been applying and or consuming an acne solution that was good for me both inside and out. And this is what leads me to partner up with the Australian owned and made, SKINB5.

When I discovered there was an all natural vitamin based acne skin care treatment available, I was over the moon! I knew I could use my following and audience to educate families and individuals across Australia to make one of the best decisions ever for the health of their skin. With both topical and oral application, SKINB5’s skin care system is the ultimate solution to looking after your skin.

So with my passion for healthy food, moving our bodies in ways that we enjoy, and thinking positively about life, I cannot wait to share recipes, workouts, and lifestyle tips to live your best so that you glow from inside out, standing confident in the face of everything life will through at you! My mission is for everyone, no matter what your age, to look after yourself in the most natural way possible, so you can stand confident and proud in who you are and how you look, allowing you to thrive.
