Prep time: 5 mins Cook time: 10 mins Total time: 15 mins

This warm apple pie oatmeal will remind you all the flavors of an apple pie, minus the sugar of course, but will leave you feeling energized and ready to tackle the day ahead. This also taste just as good chilled too, so if you end up with any left overs you can have this ready for the next day or a treat after dinner. INGREDIENTS
  • ½ a cup of water
  • 1 cup of milk of choice
  • 2 apples, cored and chopped
  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ½ a teaspoon of cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon of nutmeg
  • ¼ of ground ginger or ginger powder
SUGGESTED TOPPINGS
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts
  • Coconut sugar or honey
  • Cinnamon and nutmeg
  • Coconut Whipped Cream
  • Pumpkin seeds
  • Chia seeds

Method

  1. Add all the ingredients to a medium saucepan over medium-high heat
  2. Once it begins to boil, reduce to simmer, stirring occasionally
  3. Cook until it thickens, about 10 minutes
  4. Serve in bowls and top with extra cinnamon and sliced apples (optional)
